Date Cake

Ingredients

250 g butter
250 g sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
250 g walnut kernels
500 g dried dates without kernels
3 bitter almonds
250 g wheat flour

Procedure

Stir the butter and sugar very thoroughly and add the eggs - one at a time - stir after each. Stir the baking soda into ½ dl of boiling water and put it in the dough with the finely chopped walnuts, the roughly chopped dates and the ground almonds. Add the flour and mix it all very thoroughly. Fill the dough in a well-worn form and bake it at modest heat (good 150ºC). Try with a baking stick if the cake is ready.

Baking time: 2 - 3 hours.
